Julie is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where she earned a BS in Exercise Science. She earned her Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Temple University. She then worked as an athletic trainer at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and at the University of Rhode Island, where she was responsible for the care and rehabilitation of Division 1 athletes. She then completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Rhode Island.
Julie has spent her career as a physical therapist working in outpatient orthopedics. She has extensive experience treating post-operative patients, in addition to providing conservative care for a wide variety of orthopedic diagnoses. She has training in manual therapy techniques and also in concussion and post-concussion syndrome rehabilitation, testing, and return to play. She has also worked with athletes from youth sports, high school, college, and professional levels to return them to play after injury. She is certified as a strength and conditioning specialist and as an athletic trainer.
In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and her two sons, going to basketball and football games (especially her son’s), traveling, and doing outdoor activities.
